Only a few months after its creation, the Acosta Danza company, directed by the world-famous Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, already captivates the international audience.

After successful shows in Hong Kong, the dance company is getting ready to complete a cycle of special performances at The Royal Albert Hall in London.

The show, entitled A Classical Farewell, has already been included in the program for the prestigious hall from October 3 to 7, while the organizers announce that it will be the final performance in the company’s first tour.

Iconic pieces of classical dance, such as the pas de deux from Swan Lake, La Sylphide and Diana and Actaeon, are part of the bill.

Je ne regrette rien, End of Time, Les bourgeois and A Buenos Aires are also part of a program characterized by the variety of sources, choreographers and forms of expression within classical dance.

With the same show, Acosta Danza toured the British cities of Birmingham, Nottingham and Salford during April and May.

The company also performed in Abu Dhabi in April with the show Carlos Acosta and Friends, which included some of the group’s dancers.

I early July, Acosta surprised audiences in Hong Kong with Carmen, choreographed by the dancer himself, as reported by news media in China.

The 25 dancers in his cast are of various backgrounds and builds. ‘Cubans per se have great racial variety, everything is very mixed, and I want to reflect that in my company’, said Acosta prior to the group’s world premiere in Havana.

After leaving The Royal Ballet of London, Acosta decided to return to Cuba to form his own lineup, which now tours various other world stages.
